Community Guidelines
Last updated: May 24 2026
We want people to enjoy our service. Part of that is making sure that the community using it is safe for all users to tread. This document outlines our Community Guidelines. By using Skrai, you agree to follow these rules.
You can decide to use the "report" feature on a piece of content or a user, after which we will review the report and take action on it, which we aim to do within 24 hours.
You can also decide to block a user, after which you will not see that user's content anymore until you decide to unblock them.
1. Hateful Acts
You should handle other people respectfully. You may disagree with someone, but flinging insults at them is not the way to go. Disallowed acts include the following:
- Discrimination of any kind, including race, gender, age, sexuality, nationality, etc.
- Harassment or bullying of any kind, including digitally "stalking" someone, posting their personal information without permission, or impersonating someone.
2. Harmful Content
Content posted using the service should not be of an illegal, harmful, abusive or disturbing nature. Examples include:
- Illegal pornographic content, such as Child Sexual Abuse Material.
- Generally disturbing content, such as extreme gore.
In general, please use common sense before posting something. If the content is generally unacceptable on most parts of the internet, it most likely isn't acceptable on Skrai either.
NOTE
When we talk about "illegal content", we're specifically referring to content that is illegal in our jurisdiction, The Netherlands. We care deeply about freedom of expression, and we will never censor people based on their political opinion, especially if a foreign government pressures us to.
That being said, section 1 absolutely still applies, and hateful content does not have a place on Skrai. We are also required to abide by (hate) speech policies from the likes of Google and Apple in order to be available on their app stores.
3. Automation
Although direct support for bots (automated accounts) is not (yet?) a part of Skrai, we welcome all users with creative ideas for how to use the service! Feel free to use the Skrai API with any of your own code, tools, or scripts.
However, in order to sustain the usability and safety of our service, we do kindly request you to act in good faith. Unacceptable uses of automation include:
- Spamming posts or other actions on the service.
- Abusing our resources, such as our file storage/delivery.
We encourage you to make careful choices and take time considering what is acceptable, regardless of these rules. Additionally, we reserve the right to deny you access to Skrai at will if we're under the impression you're abusing our services.
4. Adult (18+/NSFW) Content
While Skrai encourages you to express yourself to your fullest extent, content of an adult nature are currently disallowed on the service.
This is because, even though we don't oppose it, handling NSFW content is quite hard for a service our size, due to both legal and moderation factors.
This includes content that isn't hosted directly on Skrai (such as a post with a link to a porn site).
5. How we enforce these Guidelines
Skrai is a private platform, and as such, we reserve the right to make moderation decisions at will. For example, we may suspend someone from our service for something that isn't mentioned in these Guidelines. We also reserve the right to change these Guidelines at will, without prior notice.
That being said, we do always try to make these decisions in good faith, because we care about our users and the safety of our service.
